Justin Strickland
Builder. Operator. Investor.
Justin Strickland is the Principal of Strickland Legacy Group, where he oversees the family’s investment strategy, operating businesses, real estate portfolio, strategic partnerships, philanthropy, and long-term family initiatives. But his path to a family office was anything but traditional.
From the ground up.
Justin began his career earning minimum wage as a lube technician.
Working inside the automotive service industry gave him firsthand experience with both the business and the customer, and eventually helped him recognize an opportunity to do things differently.
When several banks declined to finance his first venture, Justin’s grandfather, C.W. Strickland, took out an equity line on his home and invested $35,000 in him.
Justin turned that opportunity into Tater Bugs, a quick-lube business he grew to three locations before selling.
He later founded Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change, naming the business after his sons, Tate and Beckett.
In seven years, Strickland Brothers grew to more than 300 locations.
Shaping the Way.
Justin’s experience as an entrepreneur and operator continues to shape the way Strickland Legacy Group approaches investment and partnership today.
That operator’s perspective informs how we evaluate opportunities and, more importantly, how we work with people.
Capital matters. But sometimes what a person or organization needs most is something else.
- To hire the first employee.
- To earn the first customer.
- To make decisions hen the answer isn't obvious.
- To grow while protecting what made a business successful in the first place.
- To carry the responsibility that comes when more people begin depending on what you've built.
We want to think broadly about the resources we can put to work for others and thoughtfully consider where our relationships, experiences, time, and capital can make a meaningful difference.
The Strickland Family
The Reason Behind the Work.
Family is the reason Strickland Legacy Group takes the long view.
Our goal is to steward today’s opportunities responsibly while giving future generations a foundation from which they can create opportunities of their own.
That means passing forward more than financial assets.
It means passing forward faith.
Work ethic.
Humility.
Generosity.
Responsibility.
And an understanding that success becomes more meaningful when it creates opportunities for someone else.

Our Story Is Still Being Written.
Strickland Legacy Group represents what our family has built so far. It doesn’t define what comes next.
We’re still building, investing, learning, giving, and meeting people whose ideas and work may become part of the next chapter.
